A $1,000 LEGO Star Wars Death Star set is rumoured for 2025, and the community's reaction includes concern about the price and expectations.

According to the report, 75419 UCS Death Star is coming in October 2025 for $999.99 and there are no further details rumoured at the time of writing.
Emkenobi shared on X that they'd hope for that price that the set would be delivered by Emperor Palpatine actor Ian McDiarmid. While this is a joke, you would hope that spending that much money in a LEGO store would come with some minuscule memento or even a small ceremony when they hand over the set.
X user tanohours has a similarly unrealistic expectation, hoping that the rumoured model will be able to detonate nearby planets. Ignoring the laws of physics entirely, this would still be far too expensive to include in a $1,000 LEGO set. The most we might be able to expect is light or sound integration via electronic elements.
Over on Reddit, Illustrious-Bite-501 decided to say the quiet part of many fans' concerns out loud, stating; "LEGO are getting too comfortable with these prices."
"There is a small but not insignificant group of very rich LEGO fans," responded insane_steve_ballmer. "I say why not? I’m never gonna buy this stupid thing but I’ll enjoy watching videos about it and maybe seeing it IRL in a LEGO store."
