2025 is set to be best year for LEGO The Fast and The Furious yet

The latest brief on LEGO World Builder and a Technic set posits that 2025 will be the best year for LEGO The Fast and The Furious so far.

The LEGO Group's exploration of the Fast & Furious franchise has been limited to Technic and Speed Champions at the time of writing, and only ever with one set each year.

In 2020, this started with 42111 Dom's Dodge Charger which was transformed into 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T in 2022. 2023 saw the launch of another Speed Champions The Fast and The Furious set – 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) and next year the partnership is heading back to Technic with 42204 Fast and Furious Toyota Supra MK4.

A recent brief from LEGO World Builder revealed that another The Fast and The Furious set is on the way – potentially next year – and the limited description provided for concept creation indicates that it will be a Speed Champions entry with a female character, of which a Technic model would not be able to accommodate.

Signs point toward this being a 2025 model. Since concepts are due in four days so that the 10 concepts can be announced in January, a release of the marketing material next year is plausible. It seems unlike the LEGO Group to announce as many details as they have for this set more than a year in advance too.

As stated in our original report, Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty Ortiz makes the most sense for this female character, meaning the car build could be anything from the original film’s 1997 Nissan 240SX to Fate of the Furious’s 1966 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Sting Ray. Assuming that this set releases in 2025, what car it covers doesn't matter for this report though.

With the potential of a LEGO Technic and Speed Champions set both releasing in 2025, it would be the best year for LEGO The Fast & Furious yet, finally launching both Speed Champions and Technic sets based on the movies in the same year after missing 2021 and 2024.

Ahead of the upcoming The Fast & The Furious set featuring a female character, you might want to pick up 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) and its exclusive Brian O’Conner minifigure, which is confirmed to feature alongside the new set in the marketing material.
