LEGO Speed Champions has been a treasure trove of new parts for fans of all manner of themes over the past decade, including these 21 parts.
With some of the most accurate LEGO cars in the portfolio, it's inevitable that LEGO Speed Champions needs to regularly introduce new parts to keep the accuracy up to enthusiast's expectations. Just because they're introduced in a single or handful of sets, doesn't mean they're entirely specific, though.
Pictured below are just a handful of these new elements that debuted in the theme between 2015 and 2019, but there are so many more to consider from the years since.

With guest appearances in everything from LEGO Marvel to DREAMZzz and even Star Wars, here are just a handful (or two) of LEGO Speed Champions' new pieces from the past decade and where they have been used in the years since their debut.
Windscreens
Speed Champions has revised the way LEGO designers think about windscreens over the past decade, debuting several elements that have since gone on to influence LEGO City, Marvel, Friends and even DREAMZzz models. These include four new kinds of windscreens, following two design concepts at both six-wide and eight-wide scales.
These realistic windscreens have become crucial for LEGO vehicles of all kinds, proving LEGO Speed Champions' influence over the past decade. They're far from the most monumental LEGO Speed Champions pieces though
Wheels
LEGO Speed Champions has also, unsurprisingly, introduced a variety of wheels for LEGO vehicles of all kinds to use over the years. From the more recent 105162 slick wheels to the original Speed Champions wheel and tyre combination, the theme has been understandably influential on LEGO tyres, and now they're made of recycled materials.
The 10 new LEGO Formula 1 Speed Champions cars make use of the 105162 slick wheel especially often, with various prints to accurately reflect the real tyres. This element specifically might have even affected the debut of the two larger slick wheel pieces used in
Wheel arches
Accompanying the new LEGO wheels and tyres that Speed Champions has debuted, wheel arches and mudguards have been common for new pieces in Speed Champions' history.
35789 has appeared in 14 colours since its 2018 debut in only four colours. 49097 has been similarly versatile, now used as everything from air intakes in LEGO Star Wars to rose petals in LEGO Botanicals.
Triangular tiles
The detailing and shaping that accurate car recreations require also mean that LEGO Speed Champions has had no choice but to debut several triangular elements, including the ever-useful 35787. This particular element has been used across all manner of themes, forming everything from Superman's emblem in
Beyond this piece, the pairings of 5091 and 5092 as well as 65426 and 65429 have also been diversely used across the LEGO portfolio. 41447 Heartlake City Park has a particularly clever build featuring the former two elements as part of a kite.
Rounded pieces
Newer LEGO Speed Champions fans might not be aware, but the theme also debuted several commonly used rounded elements from 1871, which have been used as part of various brick-built animals to being the perfect piece for
Both 77850 and 77845 have been versatile too, with the latter even finding its way into the new
3386 deserves some special attention, featuring in 177 sets since 2023. This element adds an all-new layer of possibilities to building on the side, allowing the technique to seamlessly be done at an angle without intersecting with other elements thanks to the rounded rear.
"This is an element that was on our bucket list for a couple of years now. We originally thought that we don't have anything like this unless you put an Erling sideways on its back," said Speed Champions design manager Chris Stamp to New Elementary. "This new brick allows you to get a stud on the side at two plates high in a 1 x 1 module space.
"We've added the curved back because that allows you to finally have a stud at a 45 or any degree angle, whereas right now it's either straight-on or sideways. There's nothing else in the portfolio that does that. What's also beneficial is that not only can you finally have a stud two plates high in a 1 x 1 module space – which is great – but this thing also has a hollow stud, so you can have a bar like the lightsaber blades going through, or have a flag set at a 45-degree angle, for example.
We’ve really tried to maximize functionality, even though would have been easier for us had we made a square 1 x 1 module element. LEGO Speed Champions use it to get a headlight or a small detail like an exhaust built in."
This shows the level of though that goes into each new element and every piece Speed Champions has debuted, aside from the wheel trims, have been just as diversely designed.
Slopes
More than any other type of piece, LEGO Speed Champions' influence on slopes has been nothing short of staggering. 5404 alone has been used in 35 total sets since its debut, from part of the letters in
This is just one of many sloped elements that LEGO Speed Champions has introduced to the part catalogue though, demonstrating the influence of the car-centric theme over the last years when combined with the dozens of other new pieces that first appeared in Speed Champions sets.
