Here's all you need to know about the latest entry to the LEGO Ideas theme is coming in the form of the vibrant and colourful 21353 The Botanical Garden.
21353 The Botanical Garden is launching this week, with nearly 4,000 pieces making up the white glass (transparent plastic) building and all of its colourful plants. Originally designed by fan designer Valentina Bima, the LEGO Ideas set is one of the largest sets in the theme, only beaten by 21330 Home Alone when it comes to sets that are currently available to buy.
We've rounded up everything you need to know about 21353 The Botanical Garden into one place ahead of its release on November 1 for LEGO Insiders.
21353 The Botanical Garden price and details
Price: £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99 Pieces: 3,792 Release date: November 1 (for LEGO Insiders), November 4 (general release) Link: Head to LEGO.com

Situated on a pair of 32×32-stud baseplates, 21353 The Botanical Garden has moved away from the original design’s compatibility with modular buildings, losing the street, lamp posts, and Technic pin connection points in favour of a standalone structure. Nonetheless, it's still designed on the same scale and level of detail as modular buildings and can still easily slot into an urban LEGO display.
Made up of 3,792 pieces and featuring 12 minifigures, including four staff members and a variety of visitors, 21353 The Botanical Garden is impressive enough to work as a solo display as well, not needing a wider display to catch the eye. There are a number of new flower elements for piece collectors to enjoy and the vivid colours present throughout the set contrast well with the white and sage green colours of the building itself.
The LEGO Ideas set is modular in so far as you can lift away sections of the set to access the interior (although not rearrange them), allowing you to continue engaging with 21353 The Botanical Garden after the build is complete.
21353 The Botanical Garden gift-with-purchase
One of many set-exclusive GWPs we've seen in 2024 (and even the second one just in November), 21353 The Botanical Garden comes with 5009005 Entrance Gate – a free set with purchases of the LEGO Ideas set that, unsurprisingly, depicts an entrance gate to the set. It's full of similar flowers and shrubs as the exterior garden of the larger set, along with another minifigure who's responsible for gardening that section.
We've mocked up what 21353 The Botanical Garden will look like with its associated GWP in place above, offering a sense of what to expect. If you're keen to get the complete look, it's likely worth making sure your purchase of the LEGO Ideas set is completed as early as possible on November 1, as past experience with exclusive GWPs shows that they don't last long.
What people are saying about 21353 The Botanical Garden

Reviews for 21353 The Botanical Garden have been largely positive across the board, with plenty of people enjoying the level of detail and colour that goes into this build. Rightly so, considering it's one of the most expensive sets in the LEGO Ideas theme. Whether it's worth that price will depend on how much you care about having an admittedly stunning building as part of your LEGO city.
It's certainly a hefty price, something that most reviews acknowledge, but the final display seems to make it generally worth it for most – even if the build process was fairly straightforward. Nonetheless, 21353 The Botanical Garden comes highly recommended by most, if you can stomach the price, as a set that combines what people love most about Ideas, Icons' Botanical Collection, and modular buildings (aside from the connecting Technic pins).
"Composition and window dressing elevate the final model a great deal, taking the original concept submitted on the Ideas platform by Valentina Bima and offering an authentic – albeit easy-to-build – large-scale glasshouse, packed with enough story, detail and aesthetic beauty to pull in and puzzle anyone who thought they’d already completed their large LEGO city, because you’re going to have to find space for this…"
