Alternate builds for LEGO Star Wars 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker are coming in thick and fast, from an Imperial Shuttle and V-19 Torrent to a Sandcrawler and AT-ST Walker.
Easily among the year’s best LEGO Star Wars builds, and certainly one of its most inspired seasonal sets to date, 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker raced rather than stumbled off shelves when it dropped on October 1 – to the point that it’s temporarily out of stock in some regions and on back order in others. If you were lucky enough to get your hands on a copy, though, you can already mine it for an endless stream of baked builds.
Following hot on the heels of the Millennium Falcon makeover we featured back in October are almost a dozen more alternate models for the AT-AT on Rebrickable, all of which use only the pieces included with the Imperial walker. When you’re done stomping around on Hoth, you can transform your walker into an X-wing, TIE Advanced or any number of Star Wars icons ripe for a gingerbread redesign.
Head over to Rebrickable to check them all out, or browse through a few of our faves below…
LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread Shuttle

Operating at a similarly downsized scale to the AT-AT Walker is codyaner.bricks’ magnificent Gingerbread Shuttle, which is based on the vintage Imperial Shuttle design with a central wing and two folding wings. It can be displayed in either flight mode or landing mode, although you’ll need to acquire the pieces for the stand separately.
LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread AT-ST

It was surely only a matter of time before the walker on four legs became a walker on two, and so it goes that emil_mu has transformed the AT-AT into an AT-ST Walker. Thanks to the size difference between these two vehicles in-universe, the pieces included in 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker are plentiful enough to render this AT-ST much closer to the size of its regular playsets.
LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread Sandcrawler

While the set as it comes offers a downsized take on the AT-AT, it still manages to include an interior for its Gingerbread Darth Vader minifigure. By contrast, tacotaco64’s Gingerbread Sandcrawler is almost closer to microscale, but makes strong use of the wedge pieces included in the set to recreate the iconic shape of the Jawas’ rolling home.
LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread V-19 Torrent

Most of the alternate LEGO Gingerbread AT-AT builds on Rebrickable skewer classic Star Wars icons, but nopingrid_lego has gone slightly off the beaten track with this Gingerbread V-19 Torrent. It comes in a little bit smaller than the official Clone Wars set that hit shelves this summer, and the central fin can’t fold up, but the side fins do fold if you so choose. It’s definitely one to display in flight mode anyway…
Head through to Rebrickable for the full list of 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker alt builds, which will no doubt keep on coming as we get closer to Xmas. And if you haven’t managed to get your hands on one yet, or just want additional copies for a full gingerbread fleet, keep an eye on LEGO.com for when more stock lands.
40806 Gingerbread AT-AT: the best LEGO Star Wars set of 2025?
Is 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker the best LEGO Star Wars set of 2025? It depends what you’re looking for from this theme 26 years in. If it’s a detailed collection of movie-accurate ships and minifigures, you’re better off with sets like 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship and 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter. If it’s buildable characters, the LEGO Group has you covered with 75416 Chopper (C1-10P) and 75434 K-2SO.
But if it’s sheer novelty factor, you can’t really do much better than the AT-AT. It’s easily one of the better-value LEGO Star Wars sets of the year too at only £54.99 for 697 pieces – even if (as noted in our original review) many of those pieces are pretty tiny. After a lacklustre Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama in 2023 and a sea of repetitive advent calendars, this walker genuinely does feel like it’s reinvented Christmas for LEGO Star Wars.
