Digging deeper into the rumoured LEGO The Lord of the Rings Shire set

Rumours are swirling about a LEGO The Lord of the Rings set based on the Shire and we have so, so many questions.

While it seems likely that the LEGO Group could release another LEGO The Lord of the Rings set next year, continuing the trend established by 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell and 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr, there are plenty of possibilities as to what that could be. A new rumour reported by Instagram user and usually reliable source of LEGO rumours tandnbricks is heavily suggesting that this will be a Shire set – and that arguably creates more questions than it answers.

If the rumour proves to be true, could this be a way for more affordable LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets to enter shelves? Would it include a similar level of size and detail as Rivendell and cover the entirety of the Shire, or focus on Bag End? Would the presence of the Shire mean that the theorised Minas Tirith isn't coming after all – or is it just coming later?

These are all good questions and we can't promise that we can answer them all – but Matthew can do his best at speculating around them. Before these rumours are confirmed by the LEGO Group, there's no way of knowing for sure what's on the way but if you're in the mood for a creative adventure thinking about what could be on the way, click the embedded video below and get your tinfoil hats out.
