Dune: Prophecy prequel revealed for later this year

A Dune prequel series has been officially revealed ahead of its release later this year, set long before the movie that has inspired a LEGO set.

Dune: Prophecy is coming to Max this Autumn, set 10,000 years before the first Dune movie and will focus on Emily Watson and Olivia Williams as two Harkonnen sisters to reveal the origins of the Bene Gesserit order.

A trailer for the prequel series has been shared online, though an exact release date beyond Autumn is not yet known.

Since it's set 10,000 years before the movie that 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter ties into, don't exact any familiar faces. The series is at least expanding the worldbuilding and lore of the cinematic Dune world before the third Dune movie that is currently in the works.

The continued development of the Dune franchise may be a good sign for the LEGO Group's partnership with Legendary Entertainment for 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter as demonstrates continued investment in the franchise ahead of the third movie.

That said, 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter remains the only LEGO Dune set at the time of writing and it seems unlikely that an Ornithopter will appear in Dune: Prophecy.
