Duplicates could be ideal in rumoured LEGO Dungeons & Dragons series

The rumoured LEGO Dungeons & Dragons Collectible Minifigures series could be one where duplicate characters are ideal.

A series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures based on Dungeons & Dragons is rumoured for September by Instagram user maxbautde and Redditor Clay_Bricks for €3.99 each. It's believed to feature 12 minifigures, including customisable characters, specific non-playable characters and monsters to battle against. You can find out more by clicking here, taking the rumour with an apt level of caution.

The nature of Dungeons & Dragons pairs perfectly with LEGO Collectible Minifigures in that duplicates for the rumoured series wouldn't be entirely annoying for collectors. While that's been the case for hundreds of previous minifigres, it would be especially desirable for the rumoured minifigures.

For the generic characters, rumour has it that their torsos and legs will show no specific skin colour and that the heads will be reversible to be more customisable. As well as collecting a full set, a few spare of these minifigures could encourage further customisation without having to break up a complete collection of the range.

One of the rumoured minifigures is even more ideal for finding more than one copy. The Mind Flayer and Intellect Devourer (which is reported to be an accessory) are both generic monsters within Dungeons & Dragons that players can encounter. It's common for them to appear in groups, especially for Intellect Devourers. They could even be used as miniatures for the monsters within a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, making duplicates even more useful.

The specific characters including the likes of Tasha and Strahd may be less ideal for duplicates, though rumour has it that they will offer some interesting elements and their general fantasy appearance may make them easier to find a use for than 71045 Series 25's Triceratops Costume Fan.

Now that LEGO Collectible Minifigures are boxed, it may be easier than expected to find duplicates in the rumoured LEGO Dungeons & Dragons series, should the rumours be accurate. It's worth noting that the Brick Search app has helped identify specific minifigures in 71045 Series 25, though it will depend on whether the necessary codes continue to be used in future series.
