What the fans like and dislike about LEGO 76300 Arkham Asylum

Fans have been quick to praise and criticise parts of the huge LEGO 76300 Arkham Asylum before its launch, including the high sticker count.

The reveal of 76300 Arkham Asylum at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 saw some mixed reactions from the DC and LEGO crowds. These range from theories on how best to mix the asylum with a modular building display to plenty of queries about a missing character, who is technically in the set.

While we wait for the September launch of 76300 Arkham Asylum, here's what the fans like and dislike about the new Batman build.

Too many stickers

One of the most consistent criticisms throughout the online LEGO community regarding 76300 Arkham Asylum is the inclusion of 65 stickers in the set. These include various references and details, which the LEGO Group proudly notes in its marketing for the model.

"Over 60 Stickers... Simply noooooooooo for €300," comments Daniele Weidmann on the Facebook announcement for the set.

They weren't the only ones to note the sticker count compared to the price of 76300 Arkham Asylum, with many in the community believing that for such a price, more details should have been printed.

Block Party took to TikTok following the reveal, exploring how it might be added to their modular buildings display and comparing it to the similarly priced 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion.

In the comments of the TikTok video, squidgedad comments, "Looks great. The only problem with this set is going to be the 60+ stickers."

"I’d rather that than an extra £60 on the price," responds Block Party, raising the point that prints would be more expensive than stickers for the LEGO Group to produce, undoubtedly increasing the price of 76300 Arkham Asylum in turn.

Another common question on Instagram pertains to the lack of a physical Clayface minifigure, though he is at least referenced on a sticker. Whether this tease is better or worse will be up for debate, but it's another criticism regarding the stickers, as well as the lack of the character.

A new universe of modular building potential

After LEGO Marvel has had plenty of chances to expand the modular street with superheroes, many in the community are glad that it's finally DC's turn, with one future location already possibly teased in a 76300 Arkham Asylum sticker.

"Now we need Wayne Manor / Batcave, the Daily Planet, and Wayne Tower," states Isaac Earl on Facebook, the middle suggestion of which is teased in the set.

"Say that three times and Alfred’s showing up with blueprints," responded the LEGO Group's account in turn, though this is unlikely to be a further tease rather than a tongue-in-cheek comment.

A thread of comments on Reddit debates which locations would be ideal for a future LEGO DC modular building, beyond the Daily Planet.

"The Daily Planet is the only non-Batman modular that would be even remotely profitable to make, and I honestly doubt it would sell as well as a Wayne Manor," posits whentheraincomesout66.

76252 Batcave – Shadow Box has already approached the concept of a collectable LEGO Batcave build, and there have been a few fan designs exploring how that build might be mixed with a Wayne Manor, including in a modular-compatible fashion.

Also on Reddit, YUNG-S0Y is already theorising on how to expand the modular building footprint of 76300 Arkham Asylum to contain the rest of the inmate minifigures in the set.

This expansion would add a third floor to 76300 Arkham Asylum, as well as increase the layout of the build to be on par with 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion. Increasing the footprint will consequently result in a parking space for the truck, which will otherwise have to park on the road outside the asylum.

The good and bad of the minifigures

There are 16 minifigures in 76300 Arkham Asylum, most of which are returning characters, but with new minifigure designs. This includes a pair of characters that would benefit from bigger figures, due to their larger size in the comics.

"Y'all know y'all could’ve made Bane and Killer Croc bigfigs," notes John Boyd on Facebook, referencing the minifigures of Bane and Killer Croc in the set, which also happen to be wearing orange jumpsuits instead of their classic appearances.

The inclusion of several repeated jumpsuit minifigure outfits has also been met with disdain by fans, as much as they're appropriate for Arkham Asylum.

"Very good build, but jumpsuits…? Really…?" comments matheus_ot on the Instagram announcement.

"Oh great, now we're in trouble with Batman and the fashion police," replied the LEGO Group's official Instagram account.

The reactions to the 76300 Arkham Asylum minifigures aren't all negative, though, with some in the community being pleased with the kind of capes in the set, the likes of which have been shifting to less flexible, rubber capes in recent sets.

"So glad you used fabric capes and not the rubber ones, thanks LEGO, this is a day one purchase for me," says Alberto Casal under the Facebook announcement.

LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum will launch on September 9 for £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99, including those 16 minifigures, 65 stickers. It comes in 24 bags, in case you want to save the Batman build for the holidays and use it as a massive LEGO Advent calendar.
