The LEGO Group is gradually switching as much packaging from plastic to paper as possible, including a new look for polybags.
Thanks to images from a third-party retailer, we've already had a look at the new design of paper polybags coming in 2025. Now, Promobricks has shared images via reader Simon of what the bags should like like in hand, with some already in use at Billund's LEGO House.
40297 LEGO House 6 Bricks is an exclusive DUPLO polybag available for visitors to LEGO House and has now been spotted with new paper packaging. While LEGO House's polybags appear to be the first to see the change, it's expected that the new paper look will roll out across other polybags in 2025.
While it's hard to judge scale from those photos, it seems that the paper polybags are slightly taller than the plastic ones, perhaps a necessity to keep the packaging sturdy enough not to rip during transit. You can see the difference in shape and size between the two LEGO City polybag images below, with the one on the left being the old plastic packaging and the new design on the right.
There are currently no release dates or prices listed for any of the 2025 polybags, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more details.
