Five LEGO Star Trek mid-scale starships we want to see

Five LEGO Star Trek mid-scale starships we want to see

With rumours of a LEGO Icons Star Trek Enterprise D arriving in 2025, here are five mid-scale starships from the series that we want to see too.

Long-time Star Trek fans are currently holding their collective breath to see if rumours of an upcoming LEGO Icons Star Trek 10356 Enterprise D and its potential accompanying 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod GWP are indeed accurate.

If that does prove to be the case, then the popularity of such potential sets could theoretically open the hangar bay doors for many more Star Trek-themed models and possibilities down the line. For instance, with LEGO Star Wars continuing to add more mid-scale builds to its subtheme, here are five similar-sized LEGO Star Trek sets we want to see at some point.

5 – Klingon K’t’inga class battle Cruiser

The primary warship of the Klingon Empire during the 23rd and 24th centuries, the K’t’inga class battle Cruiser is a truly formidable vessel. The ship appeared in the original Star Trek series, with an updated design making its debut in Star Trek: The Motion Picture and continuing into later movies and shows.

4 – Romulan D’deridex class Warbird

Acting as somewhat of a counterpart to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the D’deridex class Warbird represents the backbone of the Romulan fleet. In addition to superior firepower and speeds of up to Warp 9, the ship also boasts a unique cloaking device for hiding from enemy ships.

3 – Klingon Bird-of-Prey

Speaking of cloaked vessels, similar functionality is also included in the Klingon Bird-of-Prey. One of these green winged vessels caused the destruction of the Federation’s original USS Enterprise, before its crew stole the ship and travelled back in time to save the Earth, as seen in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

2 – USS Voyager NCC-74656

Speaking of home, the USS Voyager would make an excellent choice as a potential LEGO Star Trek mid-scale model. The Intrepid-class ship was sucked into a wormhole on its very first mission and dragged to the far-flung Delta Quadrant, with its crew facing a return journey of more than 70 years to make it back to Federation space.

1 – USS Enterprise NCC-1701

Captained by James T. Kirk himself, any mid-scale LEGO Star Trek subtheme would have to launch with this iconic version of the USS Enterprise. A Constitution-class vessel and the Federation flagship, this iteration of the Enterprise was refitted for Star Trek: The Motion Picture and destroyed by Kirk himself in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, boldly going where no ship had gone before in the series.

As always, do treat all LEGO Star Trek rumours with speculation for now until we have official confirmation regarding any such potential sets.
