Game Boy could be a game-changer for LEGO in 2025

The LEGO Group has officially teased a brick-built Game Boy and we haven't stopped thinking about it – and its potential impact – since.

This wouldn't be the first time that the LEGO Group has turned its attention to a brick-built console, with LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade and 10306 Atari 2600 already available. However, this is rumoured to be much more affordable at $69.99 and could therefore then appeal to a much wider pool of people.

Indeed, the audience for sets like this one, where it will likely appeal to those who might never have built a LEGO set before, is far more varied than your average LEGO consumer. Instead of a wide collection, this could be the only LEGO set a person owns, nestling it among other gaming memorabilia.

After all, retro gaming accessories are getting harder and much more expensive to find. Building a LEGO one for yourself is not just more fun but also potentially cheaper overall – which is not something we get to say about LEGO sets that often.

Brick Fanatics' Matthew has managed to peel himself away from his own Game Boy long enough to break down just why this matters and what it could mean for the future of LEGO in our latest video.
