Huge Avatar battle scene earns a chance at a LEGO Ideas set

Avatar: The Last Airbender has yet another chance at a LEGO Ideas set, this time depicting one of the biggest battles in the animated series.

This report will feature minor spoilers for Book Three of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Over 17 years after the end of Avatar: The Last Airbender aired, LEGO Ideas user BuiltByCalvin is the latest fan to propose a current-day LEGO Avatar set, hoping to find success where others have not, with a recreation of one of the show's last episodes. The Battle of the Black Sun was a day in which the four nations had a fighting chance against Fire Lord Ozai, under a natural event where firebending would be nullified temporarily.

The towering model of the palace makes up most of the build, with a few interior spaces and a detailed exterior with plenty of space for minifigures battling at the front. It's a stunning build, with a floating moon that reminds us of 71813 Wolf Mask Shadow Dojo.

With 15 minifigures and multiple interior spaces to depict some of the show's scenes, this LEGO Avatar submission is just the latest in the many attempts at getting the animated series back into the LEGO portfolio.

Though they have yet to find any success, modern-day minifigures have been depicted in LEGO Fortnite, showcasing that the LEGO Group is still aware of the franchise. For now, it joins the third 2025 review as the 51st project to be considered for a future LEGO Ideas set.
