Ahmed Best, the man behind Jar Jar Binks, may be teasing that the Gungan is returning to Star Wars close to rumours of a new LEGO minifigure.
Ahmed Best's latest post on Instagram appears to be teasing a return of some kind for the actor, noting that he is being pulled back into something. The photo features equipment commonly used for motion capture, usually used for animated or CGI characters. Best recently returned to Star Wars as Kelleran Beq in The Mandalorian, following the character's debut in the 2020 Jedi Temple Challenge game show.
Kelleran Beq is a live-action character and wouldn't need anywhere near as much, if any, of the motion-capturing equipment that Best can be seen wearing in the new photo. Jar Jar Binks, who the actor played in the prequel trilogy, would though. It's important to note that the tags used on the post are commonly used across Best's Instagram and may not be as notable as you would think. Still, they include Star Wars, Activision, Jar Jar Binks and Sith Lord.
The outlier in the tags is Activision. As IGN reports, this tag simply may refer to the company that owns the motion capture studio that he is using in the photo. Don't expect a Jar Jar Binks open-world RPG anytime soon from this post alone and the report states that the post may be teasing a role in another franchise entirely.
Alternatively, it may be that Ahmed Best is teasing the return of Jar Jar or a Gungan in another Star Wars project. It's worth keeping in mind that a LEGO Star Wars rumour for 75389 Dark Millennium Falcon states that a Gungan minifigure is included in the reported set and it may just be Darth Jar Jar. Still, nothing has been confirmed regarding that rumour and it should be taken with caution.

Whatever Best is teasing, it could be an excuse for a new Jar Jar Binks minifigure either way. The character has been missing from LEGO Star Wars since 2015's 75080 AAT. Since it's the 25th anniversary of the theme this year and he was included in one of the theme's first sets, it's as good a time as any to debut a new Jar Jar minifigure.
It's at least rumoured that the character will be getting a new BrickHeadz later this year. For now, it may be advisable to take Ahmed's Best latest Instagram post with some caution in case it's not teasing the grand return of Jar Jar Binks or the debut of Darth Jar Jar, but something for a project not in a galaxy far, far away.
