It's the final week to submit your entries in the first of two LEGO Ideas '90s challenges, in what has been a rollercoaster of a period for the contest.
After weeks of submissions, currently up to 77 at the time of writing, the first LEGO Ideas '90s challenge is coming to a close – at least for its entry intake period. This challenge will result in a new set based on a franchise from the '90s and it's an undoubtedly exciting opportunity for enthusiasts of all kinds on the platform.
This initial challenge is asking for builds between 1,000 and 5,000 pieces which should be more than enough for some innovative and nostalgic entries as evidenced by the dozens already submitted. Submissions will stop being accepted on January 7 and there's not long left to submit your model and ensure that it is amended and approved before then.
From The Muppets to many Edward Scissorhands models, it's going to be an interesting judging process for the LEGO Ideas team. There's one popular property that may not need to be picked in this challenge though – and we're not talking about Jumanji.
One Piece is rumoured to be receiving a full theme later this year with the report surfacing after the challenge started. While that's only a rumour for now, such plans would mean the LEGO Ideas wouldn't need to or likely be able to pick an additional One Piece model in these challenges – at least to maximise the number of franchises covered.
You can find out more about the challenge and submit your entry by clicking here and the second '90s challenge will begin on January 7 with a much smaller piece budget in collaboration with Target.
