LEGO 10362 French Café has landed on shelves and despite an unusual scale, multiple fan-made modular buildings using it have surfaced.
It's been nearly a month since the first LEGO Restaurants of the World set – 10362 French Café was launched with an unusual, display-centric scale. The furnishings and layout of 10362 French Café don't match minifigures or mini-dolls yet there are still lessons for the popular modular buildings to learn from the new set.
It would appear that some in the community agree with our point on what the modular buildings collection can take away from 10362 French Café as multiple modular custom models using 10362 French Café have surfaced in the past month. Those intrigued by the first Restaurants of the World entry might find the excuse they've been looking for in some of these builds, all of which require additional pieces, but at least the set comes with plenty of printed parts.
Brick Artisan has burst into the scene with not one but two remixes of 10362 French Café. Their Modular French Cafe needs an extra 162 pieces and is contained to a 16 by 32 baseplate, but much like the official set it only has one outstanding viewing angle. Their Cafe Fleur is much larger by comparison and is more reminiscent of an official modular entry, requiring an additional 779 pieces.
Both builds serve to better demonstrate the potential of the techniques and parts selection in 10362 French Café and how incredible they look in the Modular Buildings Collection. Anyone with even more budget has another option for inserting 10362 French Café into their modular city, though.
BrickStudioArchitect's French Cafe Modular model offers an even more complete conversion of 10362 French Café, but it needs two copies of the LEGO Icons set as well as 1,824 parts to make it.
Those on the fence about 10362 French Café have a fair few options to rework the set for existing LEGO collections just one month after it was launched, but whether this will remain an issue once more models in the Restaurants of the World range have been revealed has yet to be seen.
