The LEGO rumour mill has been busy for 2025 and that means we're starting to get an idea of what could be on the way to the Formula 1 collection.
The LEGO Group announced its plans for a partnership with Formula 1 last week, promising it would kick off in 2025. There's a countdown on LEGO.com that will end on or around November 20, which could be the first official reveal of the collection, or at least some of the sets within it.
However, the LEGO rumour mill has been kicking into overdrive over the last few days, with dozens of LEGO sets for 2025 getting their first rumoured details, ranging across everything from set names and descriptions to prices and piece counts. We've been connecting some dots and think we have a few ideas of which themes might be included in the LEGO x Formula 1 collaboration.
Of course, we're speculating here and it's worth remembering that these rumoured LEGO sets are far from confirmed. Until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group, we won't know for sure what to expect – but we can have some fun guessing.
LEGO Speed Champions

It feels fairly obvious to say that LEGO Speed Champions will surely be part of the LEGO Formula 1 collection. If it doesn't, then the LEGO Speed Champions designers have missed a trick.
That's echoed in some of the early rumours for LEGO Speed Champions, with a ten-set wave expected in March. That aligns perfectly with the ten teams in Formula 1 for 2025, suggesting that there will be one set per Formula 1 team. The prices and piece counts are in line with solo car sets with one minifigure, so we can likely expect a solo car with one minifigure.
The piece counts are also smaller than some recent LEGO Speed Champions sets but is in the same ballpark as 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car, suggesting the design will be in line with the lightweight modern cars. There's a range of 30 to 40 pieces between the smallest and largest rumoured LEGO Speed Champions sets, meaning we could also expect some diversity in the design of the different teams' cars outside of just livery.

LEGO City

Another rumour that is explicitly tied to Formula 1 (although not confirmed yet), there are believed to be at least five LEGO City sets connected to Formula 1. There are no set names, prices, or piece counts included in the rumours for those sets but all five are believed to be getting released in January 2025. That could mean they will be among the first sets to be officially revealed, perhaps on the November 20 countdown deadline.
As for what they could be, the lack of rumoured details means it really could be anything. There are few city-based Formula 1 tracks like Monaco and Las Vegas, so brick-built versions of iconic sections of those races could be in the mix, such as the often-photographed Monaco hairpin. It could also include garages, pit stops, the grid itself, or any number of other areas of the race track.
What's interesting to note here is that there are some race-themed LEGO City sets like 60448 Red Sports Car that are not described as being part of the Formula 1 collection. Is this an oversight on the behalf of those reporting rumours or will there be racing-themed builds outside of the Formula 1 partnership in 2025?

LEGO DREAMZzz

LEGO space had some unusual builds in unexpected themes in 2024 and we'd be hoping for some fantastical Formula 1 sets too. One place to find these could be LEGO DREAMZzz, with at least two rumoured sets that could tie into Formula 1: 71491 Mateo with the Z-Blob Action Racer and 71497 Cooper’s Tiger Mech and Zero’s Hot Rod Car.
Those are two of the largest LEGO DREAMZzz sets in the rumoured wave, with the former expected to retail for $49.99 for 495 pieces and the latter for $99.99 for 1,009 pieces. If they are tied to LEGO Formula 1, that means we can expect some builds of a similar size and scale to 71483 The Never Witch's Nightmare Creatures and 71478 The Never Witch's Midnight Raven.

LEGO Technic

Okay, we might be getting into the tinfoil hat conspiracy zone of speculating here but, considering LEGO Technic is already home to some Formula 1 sets, it certainly seems likely to expect more in 2025. Looking ahead at what we've got rumoured for LEGO Technic in 2025, there are five sets expected to release in March 2025.
That's the start of the Formula 1 season and is also rumoured to see the launch of the LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 wave, so it would be a good time to also offer some more detailed models for people who are more interested in the engineering side of motorsports. That includes a massive build of over 1,300 pieces and with a price tag of $239.99, if the rumours are to be believed, which would make for an even more detailed model than 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance.
