LEGO 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops will need extra planning

LEGO 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops is coming soon and as fans plan where to place it, reviews have revealed important details for your layout.

There are under two weeks until 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops is released to the public but some fortunate NINJAGO fans have the set in hand early for the usual slate of pre-release reviews. This includes Alex Nunes, who has compared it to every other LEGO NINJAGO City set, showcasing its connections and size next to the rest of the collection for fans planning their updated layout.

71837 NINJAGO City Workshops isn't quite as tall as 70620 NINJAGO City and 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens but stacks up much better next to 71799 NINJAGO City Markets and 70657 NINJAGO City Docks. While its curved walkway is raised compared to the rest of the range to accommodate the tall mech, there's a more glaring difference for enthusiasts to be aware of ahead of March 1.

The railings and walkways at the same level as the rest of the collection – in the corners of the set – are one stud shorter than any other model. This may be to accommodate placing it next to other NINJAGO City sets as an inverted corner, explaining why two small platforms are stretching over the water on the edges of 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops.

The back of the build also has some additional walkways at the raised level that don't align with any other set, but come close to the upper floor in 71799 NINJAGO City Markets. All of these may inspire you to rethink your planned updated NINJAGO City layout to best fit the workshops into your world.

In their video review, Alex Nunes places 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops next to the shrine island from 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens, which still leaves an unfortunately noticeable gap. As we proposed earlier this month though, this can be remedied by using the small ground floor walkways to your advantage.

Wherever you intend to display 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops in the wider city range, you can take a closer look at the new set ahead of its launch on March 1 for £219.99 / $249.99 / €249.99. We'll have to see what comes next for NINJAGO City after this build in the coming years but in the meantime, the fifth entry is almost here.
