LEGO A Minecraft Movie sets officially revealed

Two LEGO Minecraft sets based on A Minecraft Movie have been officially revealed, bringing normal minifigures to the theme for the first time.

With A Minecraft Movie scheduled to be released on April 4, the film's two corresponding LEGO sets have been revealed. Just as it was unusual to see normal people in the Minecraft world in the official trailer, this odd feature has been recreated in both builds with the main cast appearing as normal minifigures instead of being adapted to the usual Minecraft style.

There will be two LEGO A Minecraft Movie sets coming in March and here are the details you need to know about both of them.

21272 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring

While it's not a full depiction of the structure, a Woodland Mansion is finally coming to LEGO Minecraft in 21272 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring. It's worth noting that unlike every other LEGO Minecraft set, the two movie models don't use 'the' at the start of their names, further differentiating them from the theme's game-specific builds.

The minifigures in 21272 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring include Steve, Garrett, Henry and a baby zombie with additional brick-built figures of an upscaled chicken and a great hog. The baby zombie and chicken have been upscaled in this model compared to their previous appearances, seemingly to fit with the fighting ring play feature better. The Woodland Mansion build is only a slice of the actual structure, not yet providing us with a proper recreation of the mansion.

21273 The Ghast Balloon Village Attack

The larger of the two LEGO Minecraft movie sets is 21273 The Ghast Balloon Village Attack with six minifigures of Steve, Natalie, Dawn, two piglins and a villager as well as figures of a chick, an iron golem and a ghast. These mobs have appeared in LEGO Minecraft too, but now match their movie appearances.

The builds in 21273 The Ghast Balloon Village Attack include various market stalls, a fountain and the larger ghast balloon with 555 pieces used overall. Steve's new minifigure in both sets will be useful to depict Jack Black beyond the movie's sets too as the latest celebrity to get a minifigure form.
