LEGO Adventure Time returns later this week via Fortnite

LEGO Adventure Time minifigures will return via Fortnite later this week as the investment in LEGO Dimensions continues to pay off.

Nearly 10 years after LEGO Adventure Time was first released in LEGO Dimensions, then in a LEGO Ideas set, the partnership will return digitally through Fortnite and LEGO Styles later this week. A new collaboration for the game has been confirmed on social media, coming this Friday.

The official LEGO Fortnite X account has teased LEGO Styles for Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen, while the main Fortnite account has hinted at outfits for Finn and Jake, who seem likely to have LEGO Styles, too. Almost all of these characters have official LEGO minifigure designs thanks to LEGO Dimensions.

LEGO Adventure Time was physically available in 2016 and 2017 through a trio of LEGO Dimensions packs with minifigures of Finn, Jake and Marceline. Finn and Marceline should translate to LEGO Fortnite easily, but Jake will at least need some longer legs. Presumably, the non-LEGO outfit will be a bit taller than his usual design as well.

Princess Bubblegum has no physical minifigure, but a digital version exists in LEGO Dimensions, and its design could be borrowed for the LEGO Style. The character did receive a buildable figure in LEGO Ideas 21308 Adventure Time, though.

The return of LEGO Adventure Time – even when it's not in any kind of physical form – goes to show how the LEGO Group's investment in LEGO Dimensions a decade ago continues to pay off. The likes of Gremlins and Goonies are also confirmed to get physical sets in the future, one of which will have minifigures that could be borrowed from the massive game.

Adventure Time launches in Fortnite on April 11, and the physical LEGO Adventure Time minifigures have long since been retired.
