The LEGO Group and Aardman are teaming up ahead of the Wallace & Gromit set for a new campaign with a claymation short at its core.
We won't have to wait until 2026 to see the LEGO Group and Aardman team up. The Boop project teased last week is now confirmed to be a new stop-motion and claymation made by Bristol-based animation studio Aardman. The creators of the Wallace & Gromit franchise have teamed up with the LEGO Group earlier than expected to help inspire young builders and encourage creative storytelling.
A new short is the core of this campaign, featuring an alien called ‘Boop’ made from clay in a world of LEGO pieces and minifigures, blending claymation and stop motion. The new short is available to watch by clicking here. The story of this short will continue, but young creatives are first being asked to help inspire the next chapter of Boop's story.
Young fans can enter a creative challenge on the LEGO Play app, using the animation tool within the app to share their own animated stories?with a chance to see their ideas featured in a new Aardman story.? There are also five smaller Boop shorts available to watch on the LEGO Play app. Those hoping to enter the challenge will need a free LEGO Insiders Club membership (part of the main program) to take part.
Director Magda Osinska will also be hosting a video workshop to inspire young creators and filmmakers, to feature on LEGO.com at an unknown date.
“To work with the iconic Aardman Animations is incredibly exciting, and we’re thrilled to see our two brands inspiring kids in this way for the first time," said Anna Rafferty, SVP of Digital Consumer Engagement at the LEGO Group. "We hope young builders find this a unique opportunity and, together with Aardman, we’re excited to explore more opportunities to collaborate in the future.”
“It is safe to say that at Aardman, we are all huge fans of the LEGO Group – so to get to collaborate with our dream partners has been a complete joy," added Sarah Cox, Chief Creative Director of Aardman. "Our partnership has been one of mutual respect, openness and a shared commitment to creativity and play, which unites the brick and the clay.”

The LEGO Group and Aardman's partnership is already confirmed to continue with a physical set thanks to the approved LEGO Ideas Wallace & Gromit challenge entry. The press release confirms that this build is coming in 2026 with no further details at the time of writing. Click here for a reminder of every LEGO Ideas set currently in production.
