A LEGO auction with dozens of huge display models is now live in Runcorn, featuring enormous animal, Star Wars, and skyscraper builds, among many more.
Auction house Robson Kay is organising the sale of more than 350 large LEGO display models, ranging from brick-built animals and fantastical creatures to festive builds depicting different Christmas scenes. Some of the lots are opening bids for as little as £5, with the auction running until June 3.
If successful, all bids need to be paid by June 5 and collected in person from the auction house in Runcorn by June 10, with no option to organise delivery, so this is likely only suitable for those who can get to Runcorn in the north of England in the next couple of weeks. There's a lot to choose from if you do fall into that group, however.
For fans of pop culture, there is also a host of display builds from Star Wars, including a Death Star that stands a metre tall, a detailed Porg, Thor's hammer balanced on top of brick-built rock, and much more.
To bid, you'll need to sign up and be approved by the auction house, then set your maximum bids for any lots you want to place bids on. The auction house will then gradually increase the bidding amount, pitting your maximum amount against any other bidders.
The models come from Brick Live International Ltd, which has now gone into administration but was a company of LEGO sculptors who rented out their models.
"Robson Kay have used their best endeavours to describe the lots in this LEGO sculpture auction," reads a disclaimer from the auction house. "We would ask bidders to bear in mind the company ceased trading and had no employees at the time we were instructed to visit, catalogue and sell the sculptures. This means there was nobody from Brick Live to provide us with information."
