The latest rounds of LEGO gifts-with-purchase are live now, seemingly switching the expected ghost promotion for a full Braille Bricks model.
Update: As of 12:38pm BST, this error has now been fixed and properly displays 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost instead of 40722 Play with Braille – German Alphabet.
Today's new LEGO gifts-with-purchase on the official online store include 30704 Balkiry Attack with £35 / $40 / €40 or more on purchases from LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog, Minecraft, Animal Crossing and Fortnite, and the unexpected listing of 40722 Play with Braille – German Alphabet as a gift-with-purchase in the UK and Europe when spending £110 / €120 or more on all themes, excluding pre-orders.
You might have been expecting the suitably spooky 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost to be offered up as a GWP as we end September and head into October, but that's not the case upon first glance. The Braille Bricks sets have never been offered as gifts-with-purchase before, but you'll notice that the two sets have similar numbers.
In fact, scroll down to the terms and conditions for this latest round of promotions, and you'll discover that the £110 / €120 threshold was intended to be allocated to 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost instead of 40722 Play with Braille – German Alphabet. The ghost model has a value of £16.99, and the Braille Bricks set is worth £79.99.
The US has no listing for a second deal alongside the Sonic the Hedgehog polybag, but terms and conditions for the ghost set appear at the bottom of the webpage.
This seems likely to be a genuine mistake, and it will be interesting to see what shoppers will see arrive at their doorstep should they order quickly – 40722 Play with Braille – German Alphabet as advertised, 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost as intended, or both. It would be wisest to assume that you'll receive 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost as intended, since adding a qualifying spend to your basket will see the ghost model appear instead of the Braille Bricks set at checkout.
Despite the error, fans worldwide can pick up 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost starting from today until October 7 with any purchases (excluding pre-orders) worth £110 / $120 / €120 or more. 30704 Balkiry Attack can be yours as well with purchases of £35 / $40 / €40 within Sonic the Hedgehog, Minecraft, Animal Crossing and Fortnite. The deals stack as long as you fulfil both thresholds.
