Every LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Castle set so far

The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program is no stranger to Castle, but you may not realise just how much the nostalgic theme has been represented.

Even before the current era of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program, the crowdfunded program has proven the consistent demand for LEGO Castle and out of the list of finalists in the various series so far, the legendary theme has a significant presence. That's before the five finalists in Series 9 are announced on November 19, too, and nearly 30% of the builds in that series are in the Castle category.

While we wait to see what five finalists await us in Series 9 of the BrickLink Designer Program, here's a look at the Castle-specific creations that have made it as official sets so far.

Series 1: Mountain Fortress

Pieces: 3,986 Minifigures: 7 Stickers: 0 Designer: SleeplessNight

SleeplessNight helped to start the trend of LEGO Castle models being hugely popular in the BrickLink Designer Program with 910029 Mountain Fortress, making up one of the biggest builds in any series to date. From the unique snow-covered palette to the architecture on the central tower, this is one LEGO Castle that will stand the test of time and remain iconic for years to come.

Series 3: Forest Stronghold

Pieces: 3,208 Minifigures: 8 Stickers: 0 Designer: Krackenator

Series 2 took a break from LEGO Castle before Krackenator presented a home for the Forestmen of LEGO Castle in Series 3, complete with a zipline, bridge and several trees in the classic black and green colour scheme. It's one of the standout LEGO Castle sets in the BrickLink Designer Program for its integration of nature, and it helps show that LEGO Castle models in the series can be more than just grey elements.

Series 4: Medieval Seaside Market

Pieces: 2,183 Minifigures: 7 Stickers: 0 Designer: Bricks_fan_uy

Bricks_fan_uy continued to explore the potential of Castle creations in the fourth series with a water-adjacent build that would go strangely perfect with the new Kraken faction. This model belongs to the Lion Knights, though, using just over 2,000 elements to create a docks display that can be reconfigured based on your available space.

Series 4: Siege Encampment

Pieces: 2,637 Minifigures: 9 Stickers: 6 Designer: SleeplessNight

SleeplessNight's Siege Encampment in Series 4 remains arguably the most unique Castle creation in all of the BrickLink Designer Program for intentionally avoiding a fortress in its base builds. Instead, the 2,637 pieces are used entirely to depict siege equipment ready to invade any castles already in your collection. It's a clever move for a LEGO set and can effectively change the direction of any castle-focused scene.

Series 5: Adventure in Transylvania

Pieces: 4,056 Minifigures: 13 Stickers: 11 Designer: SleeplessNight

After a run of non-standard castles, SleeplessNight couldn't help but continue the trend with a base perfect for the Fright Knights in the form of Adventure in Transylvania. It's not exactly part of the LEGO Castle world with the more modern minifigures, but its build can certainly be described as a castle, despite the inherently different architecture from the usual medieval models.

Series 6: Outlaw Forest Den

Pieces: 2,617 Minifigures: 10 Stickers: 7 Designer: BrickHammer

BrickHammer's Series 6 entry brought us back to a more familiar Castle model with Outlaw Forest Den welcoming the Wolfpack back properly by giving them a home base to store their ill-got gains. It's the last of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Castle builds to receive its final design, but two more are confirmed for future series.

Series 7: Alchemist's Shop

Pieces: 2,126 Minifigures: 6 Stickers: 1 Designer: Shram

Shram's Alchemist's Shop continues what 21325 Medieval Blacksmith started with a whimsical space for performing alchemy and selling potions to the citizens of your LEGO Castle world. The building's scale will be off compared to most of the other buildings in your collection, but it will go ideally next to 21325 Medieval Blacksmith.

Series 8: Dustmark Keep

Pieces: 4,000 Minifigures: 11 Stickers: 9 Designer: brickhucker

Dustmark Keep looks set to be our next big, classic Castle model after Mountain Fortress, deviating from the likes of 10305 Lion Knights' Castle in its desert surroundings, but otherwise offering something familiar and appealing to fans. The unfolding fortress comes from brickhucker, and the pitched design features a bounty board at its core. It may be adding a new bounty-hunting faction to the world of LEGO Castle.
