LEGO BrickLink Designer Program sets pop up where you least expect them

It's the time of year for deals and savings around the world, but you probably weren't expecting to see BrickLink Designer Program sets in stores.

While LEGO enthusiasts worldwide enjoy the savings available during Black Friday, Reddit user Dio44 has found deals on several LEGO BrickLink Designer Program sets as the crowdfunded builds have appeared in a department store in Switzerland, despite not being available for sale in the traditional sense.

Users in the comments have discerned that this store is LOEB in Bern, Switzerland, but that doesn't help us understand just how the shop ha managed to get their hands on some BrickLink Designer Program sets, on sale for 25% off no less.

In the comments, theories include that these sets were never delivered to those who crowdfunded them either due to a failed delivery or payment not being taken and the LEGO Group sought to clear stock of them by sending them to stores outside of their retail bubble. It seems unlikely that a reseller provided the department store with such a vast number of elusive models, not including any that may not be on the shelf.

Either way, no one was expecting to find LEGO BrickLink Designer Program sets on shelves at any point in time. The sets on offer at the store include some from Series 1 and the 2021 pilot. Whether you'll be tempted to risk booking a flight or more local transportation is entirely up to you, but it seems unlikely that these sets will last long in the store.

For the rest of us, the BrickLink Designer Program is moving forward with Series 7 in a couple of days and the Series 6 finalists were recently announced.
