In the final days of voting for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7, one project has the fortunate benefit of excellent timing.
Looking through the 375 submissions in Series 7 in the final few days of the crowd vote, one build caught our eye for some lucky relevance to one of the newest official LEGO sets. LarsHaakon's recreation of Vincent van Gogh's bedroom in Arles – based on paintings from 1888 and 1889 – isn't quite as big as other projects pitched for a BrickLink set.
It uses 1,448 parts on a standard baseplate with all the details needed to depict the iconic room where the artist did some of his incredible work – including the painting that inspired
The possibility of displaying a recreation of the bedroom alongside a brick-built depiction of a painting that was created inside the room is sure to be tempting for LEGO fans in Series 7 of the BrickLink Designer Program. It's a level of relevancy not common in BrickLink builds, and an opportunity that would be challenging for any fan to predict. The fan-designed creation relates to a second LEGO set too –
Still, the LEGO Group's Vincent van Gogh collection could easily expand with a third, more limited model via Series 7 of the BrickLink Designer Program. That said, LarsHaakon's model is up against some stiff competition including buildings, castles and much more.
