Some LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures fit better with the LEGO Ideas set 

The LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures are right around the corner but be warned that some fit better with the LEGO Ideas set than others. 

Before 71047 Dungeons & Dragons was officially revealed, LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale was released to start the latest partnership between the LEGO Group and Hasbro. It seems certain that some enthusiasts are planning to pair the new minifigures with the earlier set. 

Keep in mind though that according to official lore, some will make a lot more sense in the set. As identified thanks to several references in Inn Plain Sight, we know that the LEGO Ideas set is based in the Forgotten Realms setting. 

This is one of several official settings used by Wizards of the Coast and the presence of the LEGO Ideas set somewhere within this world means that some 71047 Dungeons & Dragons minifigures don’t mesh quite as well with the model as others. 

All the customisable minifigures can fit wherever you need them, and Mind Flayers have frequently appeared all over the Forgotten Realms but a few slots in the new series are taken up by named characters. 

While Szass Tam is located within the Forgotten Realms setting and Tasha the Witch Queen has been known to travel to the setting from time to time, Strahd von Zarovich is located solely in Barovia, separate from the Forgotten Realms. 

Similarly, The Lady of Pain watches over Sigil at the centre of the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse and while she could travel to the Forgotten Realms, it’s not a likely occurrence. 

That’s still 10 of 12 minifigures in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons that make sense to be displayed on 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale. Nothing is stopping you from featuring Strahd and The Lady of Pain on the set either, as much it might not make sense in official lore.
