LEGO Game Boy custom side builds think outside the box

A custom extra side build for LEGO Nintendo 72046 Game Boy thinks outside of the box for the finishing touches.

Redditor fotolabman1 is not the only LEGO builder to create more brick-built cartridges to display alongside the LEGO handheld, with instructions for custom designs popping up on Rebrickable, but they have thought outside of the box when it comes to the final look of them.

Taking to reddit, the fan builder has recreated Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow out of bricks to go alongside 72046 Game Boy, complete with stickered cartridge labels. That's not a custom sticker, either, just some creative thinking on how to track them down.

"The trilogy is complete!" the redditor wrote alongside a photo of the build. "That was the most I've spent on one piece!"

In the comments, fotolabman1 discussed how they found the stickers in more detail, writing: "You can find any reproduction cartridge stickers on eBay. That's where I found them."

A quick search on eBay in the UK turns up plenty of stickers for different classic games, ranging from between £3.50 and £5 on average. All in all, it's a fairly inexpensive way to put the finishing touch on a cartridge build – and the final look certainly pays off.
