Unfortunately, the reported response from the customer service team states that there are no restocks planned before July, at least in the US.
It's not uncommon for major LEGO models to sell out for good a couple of months before they retire, but this is a full six months ahead of the retirement date for
"It’s wild that they put this set on sale for Black Friday with no plans to restock it," comments effigeewhiz. "Should have just left it off the sale, made more money and kept it in stock longer. Seems like an error because most of those other sets on sale retired last year. It was a strange outlier. This is the second Harry Potter set in 6 months to do this. Diagon Alley was gone way before retirement, also."
While the comment makes a good point about the popularity of 75978 Diagon Alley before its retirement, it only sold out for good in the US three months before its date, not quite a full six months as is the case here.
With a modular ground-level section, an underground expanse, a dragon build and many exclusive minifigure, it's not surprising to see the LEGO Harry Potter set be so popular, but it's still unfortunate news for anyone in the US who was hoping to score the model before it retired. Now, you're out of luck without heading to another retailer or the secondary marketplace.
