LEGO Harry Potter's Room of Requirement has transformed

A brand new LEGO Harry Potter Room of Requirement set has been revealed, showcasing just how much the room has transformed in LEGO sets.

As part of this year's LEGO Harry Potter Back to Hogwarts event, the LEGO Group has revealed 40770 Hogwarts Castle: Room of Requirement, the fourth set to depict the ever-changing Room of Requirement, and the series of LEGO sets based on it have changed nearly as much as the room itself.

The 2020 and 2022 depictions of the Room and Requirement, across 75966 Hogwarts Room of Requirement and a small part of 76404 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar, focus on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Both builds offer students a place to train in Defence against the Dark Arts in secret, with a small dummy recreated as a minifigure and nanofigure.

The most recent pair of models recreating the Room of Requirement are both based on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, depicting Neville’s version of the Dumbledore’s Army headquarters. Though it is in disarray in 2023's 76413 Hogwarts: Room of Requirement, the newest LEGO set recreating the location is much more organised, though it is smaller.

76413 Hogwarts: Room of Requirement remains the biggest LEGO Room of Requirement set by far, but the 2025 gift-with-purchase can at least be mixed into the latest iteration of the modular Hogwarts Castle. The 2023 build also more closely resembles a castle, with by far the tallest interior of any LEGO Room of Requirement model.

It's interesting to see just how much the LEGO Room of Requirement models have changed over the years, shifting nearly as much as the room itself and changing depending on what LEGO Harry Potter needs that year.

You can pick up 40770 Hogwarts Castle: Room of Requirement with LEGO Harry Potter purchases of £115 / $130 / €130 between September 1 and 7 for the LEGO Group's annual Back to Hogwarts event.
