Explaining LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow's growth over more than a decade

The latest and biggest LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow is coming, rounding out a trio of sets that have changed nearly as much as the Weasleys.

LEGO Harry Potter 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition is the biggest depiction of the Weasley's home to date and just as we statistically compared the building's three full-sized LEGO sets, Swiftbricks has gone hands-on with the trio of sets based on this location to showcase exactly what has changed over the past 14 years.

From top to bottom, inside and out, here are the biggest differences between 2010's 4840 The Burrow, 2020's 75980 Attack on the Burrow and 2024's 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition.

While the minifigure selection has changed a lot, especially between 75980 Attack on the Burrow and 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition, some have been consistent across all three sets and the journey for each of them has been noteworthy. From left to right, the minifigures are from the 2010 set, the 2020 model and the 2024 build in the below images.

Molly has comfortably settled into her modern hair piece, similarly used for Rey in Star Wars, but introduces a new outfit in 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition. By contrast, 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition's depiction of Arthur returns to the outfit with the green coat from 4840 The Burrow but with a more familiar face compared to 75980 Attack on the Burrow than 4840 The Burrow.

Ginny's minifigures are based on different points in the movies so differences are to be expected. Still, the debut of her blue robe in 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition is a fun update for the character. The same can be said for Harry Potter, though looking at the three minifigures side by side helps us appreciate the latest hair piece for the character.

Inside, the 2024 Burrow is the most expansive and most detailed but the 2020 set manages to compare relatively well. The 2010 version of the location compares less favourably to 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition though, despite having the largest dining space by surface area.

The 2020 and 2024 models have introduced the clock to the dining area and the most recent model sacrifices some space around the table for more room in other areas of the home. The bedrooms in 4840 The Burrow aren't extensive, and the beds have the same colour scheme. The 2020 model is much more accurate, 10 years later but it doesn't quite stack up to the amount and detail of the beds in the 2024 set.

The reference to the Chudley Cannons via the bed and poster persists across the 2020 and 2024 sets too, but 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition has more details overall.

Outside, the three versions of The Burrow are notably different, especially between 2010 and 2020. The oldest build is considerably less crooked than the other sets but all three use a different shade of blue for the windows. 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition's blue is the brightest including one window next to its sizable pig pen. The pig pen is present in the other two sets, but there's only been room for one animal before.

Back to the finer details, the Floo Network fireplace is present across all three versions of The Burrow with functionality in all three too. 76437 The Burrow Collectors' Edition's version can't switch between yellow and orange flames though.

Across the 2020 and 2024 sets, you'll find the self-knitting needles and the build for them has changed a lot. Surprisingly, the theme has veered away from using wands for them, despite their magical nature.
