LEGO Horizon 2025 set features are straight from the game

A new LEGO Horizon Adventures set has features ripped directly from the game as gameplay from the latest LEGO title has revealed.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is out now on PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch and while reviews have been mixed, praising the graphics while questioning the price, they tend to agree that the gameplay is fun while remaining authentic to the Horizon franchise, despite the deviations the team had to introduce for a LEGO title.

77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth has gone from rumoured to revealed thanks to new images on Amazon, which have in turn showcased the second Horizon model's play features. Combining these pictures with gameplay from LEGO Horizon Adventures shared by TheRadBrad, there's a close match between functions and gameplay, as well as implied functions in the artwork.

The physical play features in 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth include interchangeable elements to attach to the bow and spear. These are used to change your damage output in the game as demonstrated by shooting an arrow through fire to burn plants in LEGO Horizon Adventures. The same can seemingly be done with the spear too with three components to attach to each weapon.

The tall foliage included in a set is not only a returning feature from 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, but it can be used in LEGO Horizon Adventures for Aloy or any of the other playable characters to sneak around and avoid detection. In the game, characters' minifigure forms are replaced with a model featuring some of this foliage sticking out to show your position and in this sense, 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth isn't quite as functional since minifigures can only hide behind it in the set, rather than inside it.

The two machine figures in 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth both feature removable parts. These are the same parts that are weak points in both the mainline Horizon games and LEGO Horizon Adventures. They can be removed and some parts can be used against enemies when struck enough times too. It's also worth noting that official artwork for the set features the same health bars and blue arrows from the game, which is a similarly great touch.

While it may be confusing to learn that 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth is rumoured to be released almost five months after the debut of LEGO Horizon Adventures, the benefit of allowing the LEGO designers to see gameplay while developing the set for longer is that the final model is a much closer match to the source game functionally.

LEGO Horizon 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth is currently rumoured to be released in March 2025 for $44.99 but everything aside from the set's existence and imagery has not currently been confirmed. Take all LEGO rumours with caution until they are confirmed officially.
