LEGO Horizon advert shows why you shouldn't get rid of your old sets

The PlayStation UK social media team have shown, using LEGO Horizon, why you shouldn't get rid of old LEGO sets in a clever bit of marketing.

To celebrate the launch of LEGO Horizon Adventures, as is often the case with game reveals and releases, London's Tower Bridge was recently used as the centrepiece for a LEGO Horizon Adventures advert. This time though, Tower Bridge is only featured in the background instead of being used more prominently.

Instead, someone on the PlayStation UK social media team was almost certainly glad to have a copy of 2010's 10214 Tower Bridge in their collection and used it for the clever LEGO game advert instead. The LEGO Creator Expert model has been retired for over a decade, but it has surfaced again as part of the marketing for LEGO Horizon Adventures, likely saving the PlayStation team a fair bit of their marketing budget than it would be to use the real Tower Bridge.

It's one point in the column for keeping your old LEGO sets untouched, in case they might come in handy again in any facet of your life. Even had this member of the PlayStation UK social media team modified their old model though, it's not impossible to return it to its intended form.

Either way, this advert is nearly on par with the LEGO Group's own cat-centric X post from earlier this year, which went much more viral than the PlayStation post has so far.

LEGO Horizon Adventures recently released to the public on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch and another set based on the franchise is on the way, currently rumoured for March 2025.
