There's been a major change to the LEGO Ideas '80s IP challenge as the crowd vote starts and its potential future sets have been revealed.
That's correct, there will no longer be just one set from the LEGO Ideas '80s IP challenge but two as the challenge doubles its grand prize. This means that this is not the only crowd vote as there will be another in the future to pick the second model.
For now, these five entries are all fighting for your vote and the chance to be a future LEGO Ideas licensed model. All of these properties were featured in LEGO Dimensions, technically receiving sets previously despite what the rules state. Since it seems that the Toys to Life game doesn't count towards this challenge, this means that the likes of Beetlejuice, The Goonies, Gremlins, The Karate Kid and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
Many of their fan designers you may be familiar with from the BrickLink Designer Program, previous official LEGO Ideas sets or a similar project that has reached 10K before.
The second fan vote is coming in the future and the winner will be confirmed on September 1. The dates for the second fan vote will arrive at some point after the first crowd vote has ended. You have until May 3 to cast your vote with one vote per user for one of the five projects.
The winner will become an official LEGO Ideas set and this will be announced on June 14. Then, we can look forward to the second fan vote of this challenge.
