LEGO Insiders looking to pick up two major upcoming LEGO sets come November 1 will need to have some seriously deep pockets. Both 21353 The Botanical Garden and 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion will be available exclusively for members from that date, before rolling out to everyone else from November 4.
Combined you’re looking at spending over £570 / $650 / €650 for the two LEGO models, which isn’t the kind of money one throws around lightly. Now, an argument could be made that most collectors will choose to purchase just one set or the other, but there could be a valid reason for picking up the two builds together.
Although neither set is officially part of the official LEGO Modular Buildings Collection, a few fan reviews of 21353 The Botanical Garden have noted that that the upcoming LEGO Ideas release does in fact pair surprisingly well with the LEGO Marvel build and other models.
For starters, Jay’s Brick Blog has combined 21353 The Botanical Garden with 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion and 10326 Natural History Museum, revealing that the trio of sets do actually work quite well when lined up next to each other.
On the other hand, Solid Brix Studios has compared the size, cost and piece counts for both 21353 The Botanical Garden and 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion, noting that although coming in at the same price point, the LEGO ideas set gives fans much more bang for their buck.
Finally, Tiago Catarino’s review of 21353 The Botanical Garden shows off the LEGO Ideas set in context with 41757 Botanical Garden, 10278 Police Station, 10270 Bookshop and 10326 Natural History Museum, where it once again works well, despite some obvious height differences.
LEGO Insiders will be able to pick up 21353 The Botanical Garden on November 1, with a wide release for everyone else on November 4. Those who purchase the LEGO Ideas set from November 1 to November 7 will also receive a free 5009005 Entrance Gate GWP, at least while stocks last.
