The classic science fair contribution could become a LEGO Ideas set down the line, thanks to the support of 10,000 members of the community.
Fan designer Liam Paradise's Working Volcano – With Erupting Lava! doesn't just look good but also actually works, using a Technic mechanism to simulate an erupting volcano. When activated, brick-built flowing streams of molten lava roll down the mountain and red hot rocks mimic shooting up into the sky.
The volcano is further brought ot life by tropical trees and foliage, as well as rocks and vibrant plants to bring the water's edge to life.
This isn't Liam Paradise's first rodeo either, having already had two projects in the 10K Club, with Junkyard with Working Magnet Crane currently under review after making the milestone earlier this year and Italian Riviera entering the final review round of 2024. The latter is not to be confused with Alex Sahli’s Italian Riviera, which is now in production as an official LEGO Ideas set.
Will Working Volcano – With Erupting Lava! be third time lucky for Liam? That's now in the hands of the LEGO Ideas team, going up against more than 30 other fan-designed projects.
