LEGO Ideas Sea Turtle surfaces with 10,000 supporters 

The latest fan design to swim into the third LEGO Ideas 2023 review is Sea Turtle, a 1,218-piece brick-built version of the aquatic reptile.

The third LEGO Ideas review of 2023 continues to attract all kinds of impressive submissions, with nearly 30 fan-made designs currently competing to ultimately become a physical LEGO set. We’ve seen another two models drum up 10K supporters this week, in the shape of Forest Base and The Vintage Service Station, and now third is joining them.

Sea Turtle is the creation of legotruman and is a 1,218-piece version of the aquatic reptile, one that measures over 42cm wide, 37cm in length and 14cm in height. The build is intended to capture the realistic look of the animal, using various brown and orange elements to accurately replicate the shapes and patterns of the scutes (scales) on its shell.

In addition, Sea Turtle also boasts a moveable head and flippers, which can be repositioned for various swimming poses. This is the third fan-made model from legotruman, who has already managed to crack the third LEGO Ideas review of 2023 with Moon Palace and LEGO Anatomy, potentially giving the designer a slight edge over other competing submissions.

We’ll find out which of the brick-built creations have been successful when the LEGO Ideas team announces the winners of the third review at some point in January 2024.
