LEGO Ideas hopeful acts as successor to LEGO Icons PAC-MAN

The most recent fan-made design to gain 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas would pair neatly with an existing set in the LEGO Icons theme.

Designer by first-time 10K club member victorvey300, Tetris Solid is a whole new game in the spirit of the original Tetris from 1985. As the complete lines obviously couldn't disappear when full, Alexey created a new game called Tetris Solid, where the player must stack as many shapes on the grid while maintaining a solid structure. You need to avoid leaving any gaps between the tetromino shapes on the matrix grid; if there's a gap, the game ends. When the game is finished the player will select one of six round plates to make their mark on the leaderboard before clearing out the grid.

There are six functions within the game: Play Space, Tetromino Shapes, Leaderboard, Matrix Grid, Tetromino Bin, and Reset. The entire thing is packaged up in a retro box, with various colour brick-built tetronimos.

As a nod to Tetris 40th anniversary, there's also a side-build for this LEGO Ideas hopeful, depicting Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov‘s office and his minifigure, accessed inside a hidden compartment in the set.

Tetris Solid becomes the tenth set in the second review round of 2024, joining the following sets to go forward for consideration to become a real LEGO Ideas set.
