LEGO Ideas Vintage Record Player manages to wind up 10K supporters

The latest fan-made design to make it into the first LEGO Ideas review of 2024 is Vintage Record Player – a retro music-making model.

Thanks to LEGO Ideas, aspiring creators can submit their own designs for consideration, with some successful models eventually becoming physical sets. That’s exactly what’s currently happening with the first review of 2024, with a wild variety of builds attempting to catch the eyes of the judging panel. 

The latest fan-design to reach 10,000 supporters is Vintage Record Player, a brick-built homage to musical devices of yesteryear. The first such submission from the impossibly-named AmbassadorDexterousPsyclone100, the model features a gramophone with a spinning handle to rotate one of three vinyl records, a poseable needle and a removable horn for transportation.

In addition, Vintage Record Player also boasts a removable lid, allowing access to the interior of the build and revealing exactly how the spinning handle mechanism works. The exterior of the LEGO Ideas submission features detailed decorations, a 1x4 printed panel and a small diorama with a minifigure of an elderly woman listening to a gramophone.

We’ll find out exactly which of the fan-created LEGO Ideas models will become winning designs later in the year, when the results of the first review of 2024 will finally be known.
