The LEGO Ideas team has opened up the fan vote to decide which lucky models will get the chance to be displayed in the LEGO House for a year.
A new LEGO Ideas challenge was revealed last month, with a global search underway to find the most impressive custom creations to showcase in the LEGO House. Fan builders were asked to submit models based on the categories of ‘The secret life of…’, ‘Flora and Fauna’ and ‘Mashup Madness,’ with 25 winners getting the chance to have their designs exhibited at the Billund location for 12 months.
With the initial intake ending on August 20, the LEGO Ideas contest has now moved to on the fan vote stage, with a whopping 72 submissions available to choose from. Each LEGO Ideas member gets three votes to use (one for each category) and has until September 12 to make their final selections.
The LEGO Ideas team then plans to share the results of the fan vote no later than September 23, with the announcement of three grand prize winners, along with three runners-up per category.
The grand prize winners will each receive 21037 LEGO House, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute, 40505 Building Systems, 21343 Viking Village, 21345 Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera and 21349 Tuxedo Cat, plus the chance to have their model exhibited in the LEGO House for a year.
Each runner-up in the three categories gets 21037 LEGO House, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute and 21345 Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera, while everyone else who makes it to the crowd vote stage will receive 21037 LEGO House.
In addition, all 25 winners may be offered the chance to extend the exhibition of their models for another full year, this time in LEGOLAND, Billund.
