New LEGO Jurassic World sets are matches for minifigure makers

Five of the six LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets are going to be great resources for minifigure fans, adding detailed parts to the portfolio.

Most of the new LEGO Jurassic World: Rebirth sets aren't just great for brick-built dinosaurs, vehicles and locations – minifigure fans will find some useful pieces with a surprising level of detail compared to other licensed themes.

You can take a closer look at every inch of the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth models in our thorough review of the wave. Beyond the set's massive dinosaurs and varied builds, there are 10 minifigures to collect, with some casual clothing and detailed prints perfect for custom minifigures.

Nearly half of the minifigures in five of the six LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets have leg printing, as well as printing on the side of the legs. Add to that the mix of new face and torso designs, and it's a recipe for success for LEGO minifigure fans. This level of detail is uncommon in licensed minifigures. Star Wars and Marvel have been especially lacking in such detail.

The array of casual and outdoor clothing represented in the set's minifigures is ideal for custom LEGO characters in a modern setting, such as the Modular Building collection.

76972 Raptor Off-Road Escape and 76975 T. rex River Escape's minifigures will be useful for such minifigures with more casual clothing than the explorer-style fashion worn by Zora Bennett, Martin Krebs, Dr. Henry Loomis, and Duncan Kincaid in the biggest Jurassic World Rebirth builds – 76973 Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission and 76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission.

This particular corner of the LEGO community has been especially well-served recently, thanks in part to the LEGO A Minecraft Movie sets and the variety of minifigure heads in 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams.

The upcoming arrival of five of the six LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets on June 1 is sure to be another welcome addition to the custom minifigure scene, offering more modern fashion and diverse face prints to use for characters, real people and more.
