LEGO launches new training programme for Vietnam factory

As the LEGO Group prepares for the grand opening of the latest factory in Vietnam, a new global training programme has been launched.

The LEGO Group's first carbon-neutral factory in Vietnam is set to open next year and it's time for the LEGO Group to prepare new employees via a comprehensive training programme for hundreds of its team members at the factory in Binh Duong province in southern Vietnam.

The training programme is to include hands-on learning overseas at the company’s factories worldwide, as well as local on-the-job training. The aim is to create an exchange between the newly hired employees in Vietnam and international colleagues with more expertise. It's another important step in this factory's completion as we draw closer to the opening of the massive facility next year.

“Our team members are our most important assets," said Jesper Hassellund Mikkelsen, senior vicepresident and general manager of LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam. "I’m incredibly thankful for the close collaboration we have had with other LEGO factories around the world to design training courses that provide our colleagues with best-in-class knowledge into the scale and technology behind what we are building at the site.

"These training courses are essential in ensuring operational readiness and are the foundation on which future team successes are built.”

As for the factory itself, the LEGO Group has confirmed that construction is now around 85% complete with test production on track to begin later this year. The LEGO Group is committed to creating more than 4,000 jobs over the next 15 years.
