The reveal of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 finalists is great news for minifigure students, as a full education is now possible.
LEGO schools have traditionally focused on younger students, occasionally even teaching future heroes, wizards and witches, but the offerings for students in your LEGO world are changing this time next year. The announcement of the BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 models that will become future sets has revealed a first-of-its-kind school build that has been a long time coming.
Here's the path minifigures and mini-dolls can take in their educational journey, thanks in no small part to Series 8 of the BrickLink Designer Program.
Nursery / kindergarten / pre-school

Young LEGO students can start their journey in education at
Primary / elementary school

LEGO City's retired 60329 School Day offers a complete early school experience with its bus, outside area and small but furnished school building. The classroom is teaching students about plants and atoms, and the array of shorter and younger minifigures leads us to believe this is intended to be a place of early education.
High / middle school
One step up on the educational ladder grants students plenty of options for a high school or middle school, including 2013's 41005 Heartlake High, 2019's 70425 Newbury Haunted High School (once the ghosts have been taken care of), and 2021 41682 Heartlake City School.
Thanks to the age group of LEGO Friends' cast, high schools and middle schools are common in the LEGO world, but until today, this was as far as their education went officially.
University

Thankfully, the reveal that KingCreations' University of Science will become a LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 set finally provides LEGO students a place to round out their educational journey, at least in one of many scientific fields. It's set to be by far the biggest LEGO school model ever released, with 3,995 pieces pitched.
This massive model enters the crowdfunding stage in June 2026. In the meantime, your minifigures will want to get ready for university life and brace for potential changes to KingCreations's initial design.
