The LEGO Monkey Palace board game from Ticket to Ride publisher Asmodee has been revealed, confirming what it includes and when it releases.
Smyths Toys in Germany has revealed the contents and packaging for the upcoming LEGO Monkey Palace board game, announced as a partnership between the LEGO Group and CATAN publisher Asmodee earlier this year.
The new LEGO board game features 231 pieces, 67 monkey cards, 14 bonus cards, three trophy cards, four game boards, two double-sided floor cards, one sorting insert, one set of game instructions and a baseplate for €49.99. It includes just one monkey figure, but this is likely key to the rules of the game.
The description on the listing teases the gameplay, stating that players will help the monkey to rebuild the LEGO monkey palace. You'll build upwards and create longer and higher stairs to get elements and banana points and impress the monkey to win.
It's the first dedicated LEGO board game since the LEGO Games theme as well as the small dip into board games in NINJAGO in 2020. It's worth noting that the LEGO Group looked into tabletop gaming further with a module designed to be played alongside
Now, LEGO Monkey Palace is about to launch in mid-October according to the listing, bringing LEGO board games back to the fold in full and it will be interesting what projects follow Monkey Palace, should there be any. In the meantime, we might see another board game-related announcement later this month.
