LEGO NINJAGO City Markets' cable car is the central feature, says designer

The importance of the cable car in LEGO 71799 NINJAGO City Markets is central to the build's design, as explained in the designer video.

With so many levels to 71799 NINJAGO City Markets, the many, many minifigures need a way to get around the sprawling set. Luckily, no detail was missed – even if the solution had a far-reaching impact throughout the build. LEGO Designer Markus Rollbühler explained that the cable car was designed around the idea of including a specific minifigure – but it also had knock-on effects throughout the set.

Indeed, throughout the rest of the video, you can clearly see how much the cable car impacts the rest of the design, with the track running through the very centre of the build. As Markus later points out, it even affected how modular 71799 NINJAGO City Markets could be.

"The bakery slides out horizontally because the complex construction of the cable car required us to reinforce this block of the building so much that there's no way to lift off the floors," "This was you can actually access the various different compartments and play with them on the inside."
