The latest round of annual LEGO NINJAGO teases is here, with six statements to analyse – four of which are true, and two of which are false.
Every year, the team behind the animated LEGO NINJAGO series commemorate April Fool's Day by releasing a series of statements concerning the next season of the show, two of which are correct and the other of which isn't. Looking at the 2023 teases, two of the three statements were indeed correct, and this has been the case every year the tradition has been held since the original NINJAGO series team started it for April Fool's Day.
This year, writers Chris 'Doc' Wyatt and Kevin Burke have both released three statements this year, leading to a double dose of April Fool's Day teases.
Wyatt's statements include mention of Merlopians, who have already returned in Dragons Rising and may be in disarray after losing their king before The Merge. What they would need a protector for is unclear. The Leaf Blade statement may be easier to identify as true or false, since a familiar leaf-covered dragon from
The dragon from the recent trailer features an accessory that would denote them as a regent, and we even see them accompanied by a group of Mountain Tribe dragons from the last two seasons of the series as well.
This seems likely to be one of the two correct statements from Wyatt, and it's harder to pin down the accuracy of the vengestone and Merlopian statements at the time of writing.
Burke's statements are similarly challenging, including something about the Gates to Androzani (the same name as a planet from Doctor Who), Mr. Frohicky and Sora having an unfortunate interaction with Zane.
Mr. Frohicky is currently helping to take care of the monastery in Dragons Rising, and a short storyline involving him next season would fit. The odd coincidence with Androzani's name might indicate that the first statement is a red herring, as Burke's statements are harder to accurately identify.
Thankfully, there's not long to wait until we can start watching the next season of LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising to see which of the six statements are true and false. The third season of the animated series will start streaming worldwide on April 17. While you wait, you can read our review and comparison of the latest LEGO NINJAGO City set.
