LEGO DC 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile

Following Batman Day 2024, fans of the Caped Crusader still have an upcoming LEGO DC set to look forward to on October 1. 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile is a 1,822-piece recreation of the iconic pop culture crimefighting vehicle, one that measures over 50cm in length and comes with a near-perfect Adam West Batman minifigure perched on top of a grey gargoyle statue.
Although the 1960’s superhero set isn’t minifigure scale, 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile has still manages to find a place in many fans’ collections, judging from the early reviews. While Robin is conspicuously absent, the Adam West Batman minifigure is impressive and the car itself looks good, at least from afar. Not only is the LEGO DC model instantly recognisable, it’s also fairly priced at £129.99 / $149.99 / €149.99 and features plenty of brick-built Bat-related gadgets.
“It’s another impressive Batman set, with the scale resulting in a detailed model and an imposing display piece, due to its length.”

| Pros of 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile | Cons of 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile |
|---|---|
| A solid building experience | No Robin minifigure |
| Near-perfect Adam West Batman minifigure | Wheel arches should be rounded |
| New windscreen elements | Not an exact replica of the original car |
Our verdict: BIFF! BAM! and KA-POW! 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile delivers an impressive large-scale vehicle build that should satisfy most superhero fans
LEGO Star Wars 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge

LEGO Star Wars is dropping a brand new UCS set on October 3 (no remakes here), but it’s driving a hard bargain for
What makes things tricky is that
“This LEGO set is awesome. It was freaking fun to build. The interior [and] details are spectacular – save for the minifigure issues, which include Bib’s lekku, C-3PO’s lack of dual-moulded legs and Leia’s pants. Now, is it $500 amazing? I have to say no. No way. The draw here is really going to be getting that gift-with-purchase of Luke’s lightsaber.”
Jeansversion
| Pros of 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge | Cons of 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge |
|---|---|
| Everything you could want from a UCS Sail Barge, inside and out | Overcoming that price tag won’t be easy |
| The minifigures that are here are mostly excellent | A few more minifigures wouldn’t have hurt |
| It’s a fresh concept for the Ultimate Collector Series theme | Some of the existing minifigures are slightly below par |
Our verdict: A day-one buy if you can offset the cost by selling Luke’s lightsaber
LEGO Super Mario 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi

At first glance,
“71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi is a 16-bit ode to the Super NES classic. Just... don’t look at it from the back.”
Jay's Brick Blog
| Pros of 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi | Cons of 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi |
|---|---|
| Impressive 2D display piece | No minifigures included |
| Faithfully recreates its sprite-based roots | Price may put off younger builders |
| Compatible with LEGO Super Mario interactive figures | Could have included a printed display plaque |
Our verdict: The latest 18+ LEGO Super Mario set should definitely tick all of the right boxes for fans wanting to relive a classic era of video gaming
LEGO Star Wars 40755 Imperial Dropship vs. Rebel Scout Speeder

40755 Imperial Dropship vs. Rebel Scout Speeder doesn't offer a lot that's new, relying instead on nostalgia and surprisingly good value. For £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99, you get two brick-built ships and six minifigures that call back to the theme's second round of army builders, 2008’s 7667 Imperial Dropship and 7668 Rebel Scout Speeder, and that's definitely who this set is intended for.
The details may be lacking for both the Rebel Troopers and the Stormtroopers but if you're simply wanting to bulk up on bodies for your LEGO Star Wars display, this is the set to do it with. Plus, you get the addition of a seventh minifigure in the form of QT-KT and her backstory – being based on an astromech created by 501st Legion founder Albin Johnson for his late daughter Katie – helping to add a little something special to what would otherwise be a purely practical army building set.
“I'm feeling this set. It's still nostalgic enough but it's also new enough for new fans to jump in and also really enjoy the set.”
Solid Brix Studios
| Pros of 40755 Imperial Dropship vs. Rebel Scout Speeder | Cons of 40755 Imperial Dropship vs. Rebel Scout Speeder |
|---|---|
| Peak nostalgia | Bland build experience |
| Easy army building... | ...but the minifigures lack detail |
| Packs in a lot for the price |
Our verdict: Good value for money for army builders but lacks detail in some areas
LEGO Fortnite 77073 Battle Bus

Of the four new LEGO Fortnite sets, none are as essential for fans of the game than 77073 Battle Bus. Not only is this new model the only home of LEGO Fortnite minifigures so far, it’s also an icon of Fortnite’s popular battle royale mode. Simply put, it had to get a LEGO set as part of the Epic Games partnership and it has some lofty expectations from Fortnite enthusiasts.
Thankfully, early reviews of 77073 Battle Bus suggest that it has passed with flying colours, save for the lack of mechanisms. To be fair, the four LEGO Fortnite sets have been designed with display play in mind though. The advantage that 77073 Battle Bus has over the other three sets with no mechanisms is the nine exclusive minifigures featuring a swathe of new elements to collect too.
“Normally, I’d be rattling off play features and swooning over interesting design choices. But instead, this set is exactly what it looks like: a bus with nine minifigures, and nothing more. Now the bus design is solid. I wouldn’t say it’s revolutionary, but it does exactly what it set out to do.”
The Brothers Brick
| Pros of 77073 Battle Bus | Cons of 77073 Battle Bus |
|---|---|
| Nine exclusive, impressive minifigures | No mechanisms |
| A faithful video game recreation | |
| No stickers |
Our verdict: While it could do more with play options, it's a must-have for fans of Fortnite
LEGO Wicked 75684 Welcome to Emerald City / LEGO Wednesday 76781 Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room
We're bundling sets from two different themes here to discuss the introduction of mini-dolls seemingly geared towards adults. While younger builders will surely be interested in Wicked and Wednesday, both undoubtedly have large adult audiences too. The mini-dolls, while typically geared towards kids, are packaged in sets with enough detail to tempt older builders too.
There are various similarities between LEGO Wicked and Wednesday as themes (both feature mini-dolls, are based on major franchises, and include buildable versions of characters) but if you need to pick just one set from each theme, 75684 Welcome to Emerald City and
“The design on the minidolls [in 76781 Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room] is incredibly well done. For this set the minidolls feel the best fit, allowing for a more detailed and accurate design.”
New Elementary
| Pros of 75684 Welcome to Emerald City / 76781 Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room | Cons of 75684 Welcome to Emerald City / 76781 Wednesday & Enid's Dorm Room |
|---|---|
| Mini-dolls work surprisingly well | Some fans will inevitably be disappointed at lack of minifigures |
| No details are missing | |
| Plenty of play functions |
Our verdict: Don't be put off by the mini-dolls; these sets are for all ages
LEGO Disney 21352 Magic of Disney

LEGO Ideas 21352 Magic of Disney arrives as a latecomer in the Disney 100th anniversary celebrations, designed originally by LEGO Ideas user 2A2A for last year’s contest. Now, the LEGO Ideas team have taken their pitch and mostly stuck to the initial design, making a few major changes that – according to reviews – are all for the better.
21352 Magic of Disney was almost certainly voted as the winner of the original contest for being the only entry to include minifigures and they are noted as a highlight of the model. They include newcomers Bruno from Encanto, Geppetto from Pinocchio, Lilo of Lilo & Stitch and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. As impressive as the array of minifigures are, the model isn’t lacking either, displaying both great value and a packed build. Make sure you only view it from the front though.
“Exclusive minifigures, a ton of prints, the Disney IP tax and over 1,000 pieces are usually the recipe for overpriced LEGO sets but in reality, the price tag is surprising yet welcome and more than worth it for what you get out of this.”
Tiago Catarino
| Pros of 21352 Magic of Disney | Cons of 21352 Magic of Disney |
|---|---|
| Stays true to the fan design | Mickey’s face looks a bit off |
| Some must-have minifigures | Best viewed from only one angle |
| Packs a lot of details into small scenes |
Our verdict: Minifigures and Easter eggs galore, Disney fans are sure to love it
LEGO Winter Village 10339 Santa’s Post Office

There are only three certainties in life: death, taxes and annual LEGO Winter Village sets. This year’s holiday build breaks away from the previous three by returning to the more whimsical side of this subtheme in
It does so through a charming build that’s packed with storytelling moments and festive touches, from the elf fishing a letter out of a frozen pond to the sorting machine that casts kids’ letters into red and green naughty or nice carts. A new printed ‘junk mail’ tile joins previous printed LEGO letters to ensure there’s plenty of mail, and the hot air balloon with light brick feels like a really imaginative addition to the wider Winter Village. One to snap up before Christmas for sure, and maybe day one if you like the gifts-with-purchase on offer in October.
“If you’re looking for a creative Christmas-themed activity to enjoy with a younger builder this holiday, this set is a good candidate. The side builds will keep builders engaged regardless of their abilities, and there are plenty of innovative building techniques for experienced builders to discover in the post office itself.”
New Elementary
| Pros of 10339 Santa’s Post Office | Cons of 10339 Santa’s Post Office |
|---|---|
| Taps into the sweeter side of Winter Village sets | Slightly junior colour scheme inside |
| Fun play and storytelling moments throughout | Stay away if you prefer more grounded Winter Village sets |
| Maintains this subtheme’s consistent price tag |
Our verdict: Santa Claus should be coming to your town this year
LEGO Icons 10340 Wreath / 10370 Poinsettia

The LEGO Botanical Collection has got that festive feeling, with the upcoming release of 10340 Wreath and 10370 Poinsettia. Both are geared towards the festive season and do what the botanicals do best: pack in plenty of authentic details. The build experiences of both are notably engaging, making for an excellent holiday activity, perhaps with friends and family (if you fancy sharing).
The one downside for both sets but especially 10340 Wreath is the price, coming in at £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99. That does feel like a lot but perhaps is worth a wreath that you'll never need to replace and can rebuild year after year.
“As you add the leaves and flowers, the set is quickly overflowing with life. A combination of interesting angled pieces really captures the unique appearance of the poinsettias. ”
Matticus Bricks
| Pros of 10340 Wreath / 10370 Poinsettia | Cons of 10340 Wreath / 10370 Poinsettia |
|---|---|
| Realistic festive decor that will last | Slightly overpriced, especially 10340 Wreath |
| Engaging build experiences | |
| Packs in plenty of detail |
Our verdict: Pricey but when you consider how long they'll last, worthwhile investing in for holidays to come
