Fans will finally be able to get their hands on LEGO Pokémon sets in 2026, the same year as the brand celebrates a major anniversary.
The LEGO Group and the Pokémon Company will be joining forces from 2026 for a multi-year partnership that already has many fans beyond excited. LEGO Pokémon will be launching sometime next year, although no official release date or details of any sets have been revealed so far.
However, it’s worth noting that toymaker MEGA’s existing line-up of licensed Pokémon products will be coming to an end in December 2025, allowing the LEGO Group to unleash its own line-up of models next year. That’s doubly good news for Pokémon fans, as the cute critters will be celebrating their 30th anniversary from February 27, 2026, also known as Pokémon Day.

It's therefore possible that the LEGO Pokémon theme may well arrive in the same month or even potentially sooner. A huge number of LEGO sets usually launches online and in stores on January 1 of each year, although the company may want to give the LEGO Pokémon theme some room to breathe by pushing any such product releases on a month or two.
The Pokémon Company has yet to reveal any official information regarding the brand’s 30th anniversary antics, although plans already seem to be in motion. In a recent interview with the BBC, CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara stated that he wants to move forward with the company’s goal of “connecting the real and virtual worlds” and that ‘if we continue focusing on our mission, Pokémon can probably continue to its 50th or 100th anniversary.”

That statement would certainly fit within a vision for a multi-year LEGO Pokémon deal, with the two companies potentially in it for the long haul. In addition, on the ‘virtual worlds’ front, Pokémon GO will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026, with the game being the company’s most successful mobile app to date.
While it’s always possible that LEGO Pokémon might decide to take a leaf out of LEGO Super Mario’s playbook and offer some sort of digital interactivity with sets, connecting models to Pokémon GO could deliver an altogether different experience for builders and gamers alike.
All of that remains pure speculation for now though, but the potential for technology to be blended with physical products would seem an ideal fit for LEGO Pokémon when the theme arrives in time for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary in 2026.
