October 1 LEGO sets have already started going on back order just a few hours into the month – including a brick-built, red-suited gentleman.
It's only a few hours into the first day of the month, but some newly released LEGO sets are already heading on back around the world. 72046 Game Boy is already on back order until October 23 in Europe and until October 7 in the US – although UK shoppers can still expect speedy shipping.
For those in the UK who, like me, were planning to make some festive purchases today, time has already run out if you wanted orders to be delivered by Christmas. 40820 Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure and 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker are both on back order for a whopping 60 days, with shipping estimated for December 24. While these back-ordered dates can be subject to change, it seems like it'll take a Christmas miracle for any orders placed from now on to make it in time for Christmas.
21361 Gizmo is also proving popular in the UK, with delays to shipping until October 7. While that's a shorter wait than some other back-ordered products, it highlights a greater-than-expected interest in the adorably realistic LEGO Ideas set.
While many sets are selling out quickly, you can still pick up all three potential GWPs worldwide, with 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack coming with orders of 75419 Death Star, 40772 Celebration Series: 3. Luminous Ghost is available with all LEGO purchases of £110 / $120 / €120, and 30704 Balkiry Attack with purchases over £35 / $40 / €40 on sets from LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and Fortnite themes.
