A fan-favourite character will be making their debut in the upcoming LEGO Sonic 76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot.
During a recent Sonic Central event, we got our first official reveal of a fifth LEGO Sonic set due for launch on August 1. 76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot was previously-glimpsed on the Kids Zone section of LEGO.com and will arrive as part of the full LEGO Sonic theme with a retail price of £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99.
76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot includes a 15cm tall mech model, as seen in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with the look of the robot being a call back to designer Viv Grannell’s original LEGO Ideas project. The set also comes with Sonic and Dr. Eggman minifigures, a speed sphere and launcher, three animal friends figures and a fan-favourite character.
Making his debut in 76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot is the mechanical minion, Cubot. The brick-built ‘bot first debuted in the Sonic Colours video game in 2010 and acts as a bumbling assistant to Dr. Eggman, alongside his equally-inept partner, Orbot. The character has since gone on to appear in multiple video games, comic books and animation and has so far managed to survive being destroyed by his short-tempered creator, despite many malfunctions.
76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot will be released alongside four other LEGO Sonic models on August 1, with the 615-piece build priced at £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99.
